SNAPCHAT ACCOUNT LOCKED

Snapchat account locked: temporary or permanent

A Snapchat account lock is not automatically the same as an SS06 device ban. Snapchat’s official guidance distinguishes temporary locks, permanent locks, device bans, and appeal eligibility. Follow the exact notice shown in the official Snapchat app.

Temporary account lock

Snapchat says some temporary locks can be reviewed through the Accounts Portal using Unlock, or by waiting for the stated period. For some temporary-lock situations Snapchat advises waiting 48 hours before trying again. Remove unauthorized third-party apps, plugins, or tweaks when the notice identifies them.

Permanent account lock and appeals

Snapchat says a permanently locked account cannot be unlocked through the ordinary unlock process. If the app displays Appeal Decision, use that in-app route. Snapchat says the in-app appeal process is the legitimate route and that eligibility and outcomes are decided by Snapchat.

How SS06 fits in

Snapchat separately documents SS06 as a device-ban message affecting the phone or tablet. A device ban can stop login and new-account creation on that device. Do not infer that every locked account has SS06 or that every SS06 case is an account lock.

Privacy and realistic expectations

Do not share a password, My Eyes Only passcode, login code, cookie, session, or remote access with a third party. SS06 Snap can help organize information and explain support routes, but it cannot inspect Snapchat’s internal systems, submit an appeal for you, or guarantee a reversal.
